Tell me more about the heatilator in the picture, please. Did you build that? Can you make "complete" units, with doors and glass and air filters, etc., like our old heatilator? That is AWESOME! Thanks - speedy

Also, I don't know if it is the natural airflow in my room but the awesome heat coming out of the grate feels as though it is cancelled out by the cool air being pulled into the dual fans. It creates a draft effect. Have you ever had people hook up a flex vent to move air intake toward the side of the fireplace? Kris

How well does a hastyheat exchanger work?
Christopher Kuhn near Hillsboro Oregon, posted to our facebook: So people wondering about what my new heat exchanger did for my comfort and heating bill???? I reveal the facts in this post. And I assure you they are not fabricated and no Brent over at Hasty Heat, www.HastyHeat.com is not paying me or bribing me in any way. My average heating bill for the winter season in my 3 bedroom 1400 sqft house with only using electricity to heat prior winters was 263$ per month average (NOV 2011 to MARCH 2012 winter time frame ) my new heat exchanger arrived OCT 2012 and has been in use every morning from the day it arrived. My new average monthly bill is 167$. The average temps this year I pulled from http://www.wunderground.com/history .are as follows 36 °F(JAN 2013) and 40 °F (JAN 2012). Even with the decrease in colder temp by 4 degrees we saved money! I did get a comment asking if I had data to share so there you have it. I can already say in just one winter season this heat exchanger has paid for itself. Next I will talk about comfort. The HastyHeat exchanger works perfectly for my home and shoots super heated air down my hallway that runs to every bedroom in the house. My house stays 70-75 While I have a fire going and 67 when the forced air is on and at night sits at 63. My heat exchanger fan pulls about 80~ watts from the wall averaging .06 cents every 6 hours it is running. I am no professional when it comes to money and definitely not a mathematician and I easily see that this thing rocks!!!!! At the end of the day even if you need to pay for wood at 100-200$ a cord depending on were you live and what not (gladly I have a forest available 24/7 on family owned farm land) you are still saving money and I can guarantee that no penny pinching American has there thermostat set to 75 degrees. Yet again thanks goes to hasty heat and for those of you reading do yourself a favour and stop thinking about ordering one and BUY NOW!

Describe for me what a Fireback Fireplace Grate Heater Furnace Heat Exchanger Heatilator Cord Firewood Rack Wood Pellet Basket Ash Tray is?
They are the most elegant, well crafted, customizable, and functional Heat Exchangers at the most reasonable cost. Turn your fireplace into a furnace with the ultimate blend of eye pleasing form with function. These high quality fireplace Grate Heat Exchangers are built to last. When you use our Grate Heat Exchanger in an open fireplace, you will realize a saving on your heating costs and the amount of firewood. With one of these you can extract a larger percentage of the heat wasted and going up your chimney. Our Heat Exchangers are designed with the greatest surface area to capture and move into your home the highest percentage of the BTU heat generated by your fire. Our volume of sales and positive feedback speaks for itself! We have grates that have been in operation since 2000 and no customer has reported burn through. All our products are made with fully welded uncoated non-galvanized structural grade industrial carbon steel, and UL certified electrical components. We use 100% renewable wind and hydro electricity in our shop, and when possible, we use re-purposed and recycled steel. Here is how it works: Our all steel design uses several perfectly sized heavy duty thick wall tubes for maximum heat exchanger surface area, superior airflow volume, minimum burn through, and maximum combustion area volume. The tubes are welded together forming a channel that is filled with cool home air. The tubes then heat the air as it passes through them. Hot air is then blown back into the your home with velocity. This adds conduction from the hot coal coals and convection from the flame, heating to the radiant heat of a fireplace, recovering otherwise lost energy or BTU from the embers and flame of your fire. The AC fans plug into a standard 110 VAC wall outlet (DC optional for solar panel, wind, solar cell, photo voltaic cell off grid or grid tie applications), they are quiet running at a measured 50 db or less decibels, and rated at 100 CFM each. With the option of a variable speed fan control when mood is more important than heat output you can reduce the background hum of our heat exchangers in operation for the perfect ambiance. Customers have observed how the warmth generated by these Heat Exchangers can circulate to the adjoining rooms in your home. A customer sent us many thanks when our grate prevented the freezing of his pipes in -20 weather when his natural gas furnace broke and the part was over a week away. This serves to increase the comfort of your entire home, conserve the amount of wood you burn, and nearly eliminate the need for other expensive methods of climate control such as electric heaters, heat pumps, corn or pellet stoves, and central air oil or gas furnaces. Production time? We normally ship within 3 business days of your payment. First in line is first in time, the sooner you order your Fireplace Grate Heater, the sooner you can start saving on the heating bill!

Yes, vent tubes can work real well to duct into the heater, so long as it is visually acceptable to you. What is happening there is the heat is moving out into the house and the cold air in every room is being pushed by a upside-down layer cake of stratified Hot and cold air. Two things help a ceiling fan mixing the hot and cold, and a small desk fan on the floor at the furthest end of the hall blowing the cold air back toward the fireplace to be warmed up, thereby drawing the hot air along the roof down the hall to the far reaches of your home...

What Our Customers Have to Say
New message from: oldhommer (390Turquoise Star) I really don't have a question Just a short note I got my L20HTH24D Hard Times Heat exchanger yesterday (Left Handed built) let me tell you I been looking for one of these since 1980. I saw something like this back in Des Moines, Iowa back in 1980 at Central Tractor Supply. And it sold for about the same price back what I paid you for mine. I went back to that store to see about buying it and they didn't what I was talking about. Same for here in Texas they didn't know what I was talking about. I'm glad I finally got one. Any way works great in my House in Dallas Texas area. (Garland Texas). Very well built. You took a lot of time and pride in your welding work. And it shows. Thanks A Million for what you did. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lawrence Hikalea I've been looking at rocket stoves for quite a while now and I've got to say this CHP Wood Pellet Stove is brilliant! Great work fella's! I will definitely be a future customer (when my workshop is built this will be perfect). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm writing you this email as I sit next to my warm fireplace during a winter snow storm. I can't tell you how much my family is enjoying the FIreplace 20HTH heater! We have noticed a huge increase in the output of heat from our fireplace and after getting our first heating bill after owning the heater I can already see that it's going to pay for itself. I got a little creative and connected the heater to my fireplace doors to keep the heat in the house. I'm recommending your business to all my friends and family who own wood burning fireplaces. I just want to say thank you from a very satisfied customer. I hope to go bigger in the next year or two and revisit your store. Thank you and Merry Christmas! Anthony Whitt ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ New message from: awhi8099 (90Blue Star) I received the fireplace heater and tried it out last night. I really like it and it really does put out a great amount of heat. I love the adjustable fan speed controller I added to my order and now my fireplace is more than something that looks cool, it is now practical. I'm hoping that in the future we can go bigger with one of your larger inserts. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have been looking at your different heat exchangers and inserts and I am really blown away at the different options that you have available. I have been against getting an insert because of losing the beautiful aesthetics of my fireplace. But after looking at some of your larger options I could easily see myself putting in one of your inserts because they don't take away from the beauty of the fireplace, they add to it. We have a very large hearth and without a doubt it's the centerpiece of the house. With all that being said, I want to try out the heat exchanger that I already purchased. If we are pleased with how it works and what it can do for our fireplace on a small scale, my wife and I would like to talk to you about one of your larger inserts like the 3Q or possibly even an insert with the fireplace doors built in. As you might imagine, I'm very excited about all of this. Happy Thanksgiving, Anthony Whitt _____________________ Dear mr.hasty, Today, after having my chimney cleaned and a repair made, I was finally able to install and use the 16gr-f heatilator. I wanted to let you know that I am very pleased with this unit. After 14 yrs. of very little heat coming from my fireplace, I now have a cozy continuous stream of heat coming out. So, thank you for this and providing such a well constructed item. Since I did not buy a unit with the fan, is it possible to buy the fan separately and personally add it to the unit? (Yes we can ship you the parts to add a fan, welding will be required) Thanks again and Merry Christmas to you. - natureland-2007 ---------------------- Express order fulfillment times even through the holiday rush HastyHeat wrote: Yes shipped within 72 hours of your payment; the day before thanksgiving Keith replied: I haven't even received my purchase and already you guys rock. It has paid for itself over and over, thanks for a great product!" Stanley wrote about his 24hth20d: Hey guys, I meant to send these pics to you awhile ago but it slipped my mind. Thanks again, our house is plenty warm and the electricity bill is lookin alot leaner. Thanks again! I got a phone call from my daughter that it arrived today. She said it fit perfectly and was impressed with your packaging job (she’d said she was a little worried at how big the box was and thought it wouldn’t fit (before opening it). I can’t tell you how please they are with it. Thanks again for the quick responses and fast shipping. Kyle ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kurt Krom Jan 5 (4 days ago) to me Hello people at Hasty's place, Recently I purchased a 24" Wide Double Row Grate from you folks, and I wanted to give you some feed back on your product. First of all, it puts out a lot of heat. Absolutely super. I am able to keep the temperature in the desired area around 68-72 degrees with heat to spare. Everybody is really enjoying it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I Just Fired up the insert day-before-yesterday. Works like a champ. No smoke in the house, smoke goes up the chimney, and an amazing amount of heat being thrown out of the tubes. It was worth the wait. I will get onto your website with photos and a testimonial, which will mention that we didn’t get it right on the first try, that you absolutely stand behind your work and made it right to my complete satisfaction. Best wishes for the holidays, Larry ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear mr.hasty, Hi, Just to let you know your heat exchanger grate is fantastic and works like a dream. Believe it or not it is fairly chilly here on the coast. 56 degrees, foggy with mixed rain. We have been heating our entire 750 sq. ft. house today and tonight only with the fireplace and your grate to a toasty 78 degrees with so much less wood then we used in the past. Thanks for a superior quality built product. Sandy and Mary Ann Schindler ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Does a FIREBACK help a fire grate heater?
Dec 10, 2016, "Jarrod" wrote: Hello, I own a heat exchanger made by you that has been in operation for 2 years. It's working quite well and am very satisfied with my purchase. I have one question. In your opinion, would adding a cast iron fireback behind the heat exchanger tubes increase heat output into the home? I understand the concept of increasing radiant heat with a cast iron fireback, but the efficiency of such seems in question. In short would a $100 fireback increase the heat output to a noticeable level. I greatly appreciate your time, Jarrod Smith YES, we have been looking to add this feature as an option. it could be as simple as having a piece of sheetmetal spot welded to the back of the tubes. this forces more intimate contact of tube and flame, and reflects FAR infrared out into your home.
