With one of these youcan extract a larger percentage of the heat wasted and going up yourchimney. Ourall steel design uses several perfectly sized heavy duty 15 gage 1"tubes for maximum heat exchanger surface area, superior airflowvolume, and maximum combustion area volume. These C shaped tubes arewelded along a manifold that is filled with cool home air. The tubesthen heat the air along the bottom, back and top. Hot air is thenblown back into the room with velocity. This adds conduction from thehot coal coals and convection from the flame, heating to the radiantheat of a fireplace. Recovering otherwise lost energy or BTU from theembers and flame of your fire. The AC fans we use plug into astandard wall outlet and are ball bearing (DC optional for solarpanel, wind, photo voltaic cell off grid or grid tie applications),they are quiet running at a measured 50 db or less decibels, anddeliver 100 CFM each. Other squirrel cage blown units can sound likea jet engine, raising the volume of the TV or voices in conversation. With the option of a variable speed fan control when mood is moreimportant than heat output you can reduce the background hum of ourheat exchangers in operation for the perfect ambiance. Customers haveobserved how the warmth generated by these heat exchangers cancirculate to the adjoining rooms. A customer sent us many thanks whenour grate prevented the freezing of his pipes in -20 weather when hisnatural gas furnace broke and the part was over a week away. Thisserves to increase the comfort of your entire home, conserve theamount of wood you burn, and nearly eliminate the need for otherexpensive methods of climate control such as Electric heaters, heatpumps, corn or pellet stove, and central air oil or gas furnaces. Touse our heat exchanger at high or low output does not require you toslice your firewood into 6" wafers, and with or without theremovable ash tray your fire gets plenty of airflow for complete andclean combustion, just like any camp fire. Have you ever noticed howthe ash in the bottom of a camp fire keeps your coals from catching acold? Or how those coals cozy in their blanket of ash are stillgenerating heat by morning and can be stirred to the top of the ashand used to ignite fresh kindling? We stock 5 sizes designed to fit completely within their squaremeasurements: 12” wide, 14” wide, 16” wide, 20” wide, and 24”wide. Rectangular units can be readily assembled from our stock of14" deep & tall, 16” deep & tall, 20" deep &tall, or 24" deep & tall tubes to your specific width. We do not use anyexpanded metal mesh for holding coals or embers which typically burnout in a season or two. If a heavy iron grate gets burned up overtime by a fire imagine how quickly it will thermally reduce thinexpanded metal mesh with little to no cooling. The best method of determining which size of grate heat exchangerto select is to use a cardboard box that fills your fireplaceappropriately and take its measurements, then select or specify agrate that will fit within its dimensions. International and domesticcustomers are welcome to have their shippers pick up their order inwill call.Onany Thermal Reclamation Unitwe offer the following options:RemovableAsh Tray; This makes cleanup a snap.
